Welcome to the Jafar gallery! It showcases some beautiful images taken by the Euclid space telescope. Select a type of object to discover more about them, or simply admire them all.
This is a subsample of galaxies within the Euclid Q1 data that display prominent tidal features. These extended structures are stars expelled from their galaxies due to gravitational interactions during galaxy mergers. Tidal features are therefore great probes of recent or on-going galaxy mergers, and help us unravel the mass assembly of galaxies.
Dwarf galaxies are the most common galaxies in the Universe. Despite their small size, they are believed to be the building blocks of larger galaxies. Studying their properties and abundance offers valuable insights into the cosmological history of our Universe. Below are examples of dwarf galaxies, some hosting a bright central nucleus.
